Link Building Strategies
If you’ve been marketing online for any length of time, then I’m sure you’ve come across Search Engine Optimization more than once. When I began my online marketing journey, I was obsessed with traffic generation. I assumed that if I could generate traffic I would “get rich” and make obscene amounts of money while floating around the world on my yacht.
I soon learned it wasn’t quite so simple. Anyway SEO amazed me! I was stunned that I could rank in the search engines and receive targeted traffic for free. So I did the smart thing and paid some random dude in India to build backlinks for my websites. As backlinks are definitely the primary factor Google uses in its algorithm to determine where a website should be ranked.
It’s safe to say that right? Anyway most people struggle with link building strategies, they don’t know what works and they don’t know how to use different strategies in conjunction with eachother. So let’s begin, here are 2 dead ultra effective link building strategies that work like crazy:
1. Article Directory Backlinks
Marketers have been using article directories for years and for a good reason too! As despite what other marketers are saying, Article Marketing still works very well and so do the backlinks they yield you. If you don’t know, article directories are sites like EzineArticles.com Article Base. How do you gain links from article directories?
When you submit an article to any article directory, you’re allowed an author resource box at the bottom of the article. In your author resource box you’re generally allowed 2 links to the websites of your choice. You simple input some anchor text linking your desired keywords to your websites/pages. Although I said Article Marketing still works, it’s definitely taken a huge hit.
Article directories no longer have the same effect they used to. A little while ago I was able to write, spin and submit an article to a few thousand directories & I’d be ranking all over the place! Now, not so much…
Saying that article directory backlinks are still very effective when combined with other strategies.
How should you use article directories in your link building strategies?
Build high Page Rank article directory links to your money site and use the thousands of low quality directories as tier 2 backlinks. Meaning build high Page Rank article directory links to your money site. Then submit your spun article/s to thousands of low quality directories linking to your tier 1 backlinks. The tier 1 backlinks being your high Page Rank article directory links. Or you can use them to spam web2.0 sites like Blogger, Hubpages and Wetpaint.
With your list of live articles, create an RSS feed out of them using Links2RSS and submit the feed to the top RSS aggregators like RSSMotron or FeedListings.
2. Web2.0 Sites
Marketer’s have been leveraging the power of web2.0 sites for years. Web2.0′s are essentially websites you can “add to” or create accounts and websites on. For example Blogger. You can create an account on Blogger and get a sub domain on blogspot.com free of charge. For example I have http://conqueredriches.blogspot.com which works as a web2.0 I syndicate my blog posts onto. Here’s a short list of five popular web2.0 sites:
- Blogger
- WetPaint
- WordPress.com
- Typepad
- Tumblr
You can create accounts on those sites, create your own site/blog on their domain and post content to it. Within the content you publish on each web2.0 you can link to your money sites for relevant contextual backlinks. Web2.0’s are great and have many uses in the world of search engine optimization. You can use them as buffer sites or just use them to build single tiered backlinks.
How Should You Use Them?
Well for one, you should build a group of high quality web2.0’s that link directly to your money site. The trick is to use 100% unique content on each web2.0 or write a unique article, spin it well and submit a unique variation to each web2.0 site. Another trick is to embed your own Youtube video in each web2.0, this helps get them indexed!
I usually create a group of around 30-50 web2.0 sites, that number seems to work well. After they are created, I bookmark them using Senuke X, Bookmarking Demon or if you’re a cheapskate you can use a free alternative like Social Marker.
Make sure you keep a list of the bookmarks and web2.0 URL’s. With the list, create an RSS feed out of all the backlinks using Links2RSS or RSSHolder and submit the feed to the top RSS aggregators. I mentioned two above, you can actually just search for them. Creating a feed out of them and submitting it to RSS aggregators will help get your backlinks indexed. Bookmarking your web2.0′s will juice them a little, attract some attention from Google and help get them indexed.
That’s what most people do with web2.0′s, create them, bookmark them and submit their RSS feed/s. I do that sometimes, but to take it a step further and get the biggest boost in rankings I build more links to them. What’s cool about web2.0′s is that you can spam the crap out of them. I use Scrapebox to build THOUSANDS of blog comment links to my web2.0′s and I use the infamous Russian Xrumer to blast them with forum profiles. Both forum profiles and comments are low quality links, but when created in mass quantities they do A LOT of damage.
Again – I take my forum profiles, create feeds out of them and submit the feeds to the top RSS aggregators. I also take all of my links and run them through Lindexer. Since I’m SEO crazy, I do a load more indexing stuff including submitting my links through a network of Backlink Energizers. While I mostly use web2.0 sites as tier 1 backlinks, I also use them for tier 2 links. For tier 2 I generally writer/steal an article from somewhere else, spin it and submit different variations to all the top web2.0 sites. In each tier 2 web2.0 I link to my high quality tier 1 web2.0’s that link to my money site.
When you use multi tiered link structures the link juice gets funneled through from the bottom tiers all the way to the first and through to your money site.
In Prosperity,
Jamie Hudson

When you have a site with let’s say 100 pages, each of them optimized for a certain keyword. Do you build 30-50 2.0 properties to each of the pages or for the entire site?
Depends…
Usually I create a group of 30-50 web2.0′s that are unique content only and videos embedded for the money site home page. Then use them as buffer sites to drive link juice to the money site. (I spam them A LOT and build all sorts of links to them)
But for all of my pages, I generally take a unique article/sometimes I use the one that’s on the page, spin it and submit it through senuke linking to it’s respective page. So they are automatically built, bookmarked and their feeds are submitted all by senuke.
I then take the spun article, submit through AMR, UAW, MAN and Article Ranks. On top of that Build My Rank. That’s the basic procedure for each internal page. (These blog posts aren’t supposed to be found easily – hence why I hid it from the RSS feed and home page – I want to build this blog faster while keeping the quality high so posting lower quality stuff like this and hiding it, then posting the great stuff on the home page) But it’s still good stuff
Man, i wish I could download your brain
Those 2.0 buffersites, do you build them manually or do you use a program to build them?
I have tried AMR but got a very low succesrate, so I no longer use it. What is your successrate or do you have any tips on how to get the most out of AMR?
The buffer I sites get built manually, accounts registered by hand, unique content and videos embedded. But as I said I only build 1 set of buffers per site. As for Article Marketing Robot, I know that thing has lost its mojo lately…
You need to import a new list of directories, look for them. There are plenty for sale all over the place, check fiverr. Then create accounts on them all, confirm once a week for a month and you should have them all. Then submit an article with skip captchas set.
After that, select all of the failed directories, select use decaptcha and submit again. From there you can change the title and size of your article to boost success rates. But at that point I just delete the rest of the failed directories. Then import more.
With a good list – you can get 400 odd auto approved article directory backlinks. And most of them tend to approve articles weeks or even months after they are submitted. I download the live articles, bookmark them, create a feed out of them, submit that and also send the links through lindexed.
