Build My Rank Review
The other month I decided to test drive the reasonably new link building service Build My Rank. It was probably around 2 months ago now and ever since I’ve been using Build My Rank on a daily basis. So the results are finally in and I know this blog post is long overdue. Anyway, I’ve been busy with my other ventures and there’s only so many hours in the day.
If you haven’t already read my initial Build My Rank review and case study, go read it right here. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Build My Rank, it’s essentially a link building service. The actual service “kind” is referred to as a blog network. You pay a certain amount of money per month and you get access to their network of high Page Rank blogs. Why would you want that?
Well because you’re allowed to publish little snippets of content onto the blogs in the Build My Rank network. In every 150 words, you’re allowed 1 link to your website. In 2010, blog networks were killing it! All you had to do was slap up a quick website, add a few pages of content, spin the content and submit it through blog networks and POW…. top 3 rankings.
…But that was back THEN.
Ever since Google started rolling out those damn Panda updates and changing the algorithm, things have changed. SEO has become A LOT more expensive. Google demands that you have high quality content (not just unique), solid site architecture, lots of content, social activity, user engagement and lots more. Not to mention super high quality backlinks.
Google is taking a different direction now, it’s become the new social site. Why do you think they launched Google plus and why do you think they started using social signals in their algorithm? My point is the algorithm is changing and the way Google looks at backlinks is also changing. Badly spinning content and submitting it to 1000′s of websites may yield 1000 backlinks, but they wont beat a few contextual backlinks surrounded with 100% unique content on high Page Rank domains.
That’s why I started using Build My Rank. You get contextual backlinks within 100% unique content on high Page Rank blogs. They are literally THEE best backlinks in existence. Enough with the SEO rant, let’s take a quick look at the Build My Rank link building process:

Basically you write a 150 word snippet of content on the subject of the site you want to promote. You then insert a link to your site within the snippet using your desired keyword as anchor text. You then submit the snippet into the system and Build My Rank will publish it on 1 of their high Page Rank domains. Here’s an example of one:

As you can see from the image, the domain is Page Rank 4 and below you can see an example snippet I submitted on November 26th. The same snippets you get to submit into the system that go on sites just like this one. I had to rub out the domain details since I’m under strict instructions not to reveal any of the Build My Rank network. Anyway, here is an exact snippet that’s been published on one of the blogs:

See the “mattress reviews” anchor text, that links to my website giving me a fantastic backlink. Before I reveal my case study results, let’s take a look at some of Build My Rank’s main features and answer some generic questions:
What Exactly Is Build My Rank?
Build My Rank is essentially a high Page Rank blog network with thousands of blogs ranging from Page Rank 1-7. The service is similar to LinkVana which is a well known blog network that’s been around for a while. When you join Build My Rank, you get to add a set number of domains depending on your membership level. Once your domains are added you can start submitting unique snippets of 150+ words into the system. Each snippet then goes on 1 of their high Page Rank blogs and it also gets some links built to it.
Reporting
With Build My Rank you get full reporting. When you login and click on the posts section, you’ll see a list of your previously submitted posts, their status and the Page Rank of the domains they are on. Believe it or not A LOT of networks never even reveal the domains your posts go to since they want to protect their network… even from members. There is more advanced reporting, but this is what the dashboard looks like:

It’s a great dashboard with details like your post indexing rates, how many snippets you’ve submitted and also a pie chart of your posts Page Rank distribution:

This thing tells you the Page Rank of the blogs your snippets are on.
Super High Quality Network
Build My Rank honestly has the most high quality blog network out there. How so? Simply because they only have aged high Page Rank domains and they only accept 100% unique content. Most networks are full of brand new, no PR and spammy domains. Build My Rank manage their own network, they don’t accept new or no PR domains and they keep adding new ones to the network every week.
Isn’t The 100% Unique Content Thing Bullshit?
Not at all, here’s why…
Most people shit themselves and run away when they hear that Build My Rank only accepts unique content. The truth is that it does mean you’re getting LESS backlinks. Most other networks accept spun content and they slowly distribute it onto a couple hundred domains. So with your typical blog network, 1 spun article might yield 50-300 backlinks and Build My Rank will yield 1!
Am I insane to be promoting Build My Rank? Nope, that 1 Build My Rank backlink is a lot more powerful than a badly spun article submitted onto dozens of sites. It’s actually quite complicated. Basically Google has been hammering down on every automated link building tactic – blog networks being one of them. The problem is Google has a tough time identifying blog networks.
BUT – the ones that accept spun content are easily identified. All Google has to do is recognize the same articles on several hundred domains. In the past Google has actually de-indexed entire blog networks, penalized them and their user’s sites! However that’s just my word of caution for using spun content blog networks. Contextual backlinks are still effective and even within badly spun content.
Saying that, Build My Rank links are like the crème de la crème of all backlinks. You get contextual backlinks within relevant, 100% unique content on high Page Rank and aged domains.
Indexing Rates
One major problem with link building is indexing! Building your links is one thing and indexing them is another. A few years ago no one really worried about indexing backlinks. Everyone figured Google indexes everything it comes across. Now Google demands good content or incoming links to index something.
Anyway, you don’t have to worry about indexing your BuildMyRank links since they have a 95% index rate. I’ve personally never found a link building service that gets indexing rates even close to 95%. With other services, you usually have to do a load more work to get your links indexed. To ensure high indexing rates, BMR automatically bookmarks your posts and submits their RSS feeds.
Doing so forces Google to index your links and keeps the Build My Rank network quality second to none.
Outsourcing
Writing 150 words snippets of content is a real pain in the ass. It sucks and I only ever did it for a few weeks until I found a writer. That’s why Build My Rank has a very clever outsourcing system. First you can outsource your snippets by paying Build My Rank $2.50 per snippet. Honestly that’s a total rip off. $2.50 per backlink isn’t going to get anybody a huge return on investment.
However you can easily find writers who’ll write the snippets for as low as $0.10-$1/snippet. Do the maths; you could hire a $300/month writer to write 6000+ words a day. That’s just 750 words an hour for 8 hours a day. That’s a total of 40 snippets per day or 800 per month for $300. Eight hundred build my rank backlinks are definitely worth more than $300!
Using the “add writers” feature you can add up to 5 writers at a time. It allows you to plug writers into the system so they can login and start submitting snippets. You basically input a name and email address along with a username that gets sent to them. Best of all you get to see their approval rates and the number of snippets they’ve been submitting right from the dashboard.
Reputation
Believe it or not, some link building services go horribly wrong. They run away with everyone’s money, their networks get de-indexed or user’s sites get penalized. All sorts can go wrong and that’s why you should go with a service you can trust. Within many SEO circles Build My Rank is considered the ultimate link building service right now. I too genuinely believe that Build My Rank is by far the best link building service as of right now.
With that being said, things change all the time; especially in the SEO world. But right now, you need to go with what works and Build My Rank definitely does, here are my case study results:
BuildMyRank Case Study 1
My case studies aren’t exactly solid, but you’re going to have to trust them. First is an Adsense site. I set this site up about a month before I started using Build My Rank on it. It only had around 10 dodgy backlinks before I started using BMR.
Main Keyword:
- 3 words
- Medium Competition
- 8,800 Searches/month
- Previous Ranking: #19
- Ranking After BMR: #3
- Number Of BMR Snippets: 45
- 2 words
- Hard Competition
- 33,000 Searches/month
- Previous Ranking: #33
- Ranking After BMR: #10
- Number Of Snippets: 12
BuildMyRank Case Study 2
- 3 Words
- High Competition
- 4,400 Searches/month
- Previous Ranking: #16
- Ranking After BMR: #5
- Number Of Snippets: 15
Build My Rank Case Study 3
This site we also brand new and had absolutely no rankings at all. I thought I had to show some real proof so I took a screenshot of my rank checking software rank tracker. I didn’t want to reveal the keywords of my other sites but I guess I’ll make an exception this time.
- 4 Words
- Medium Competition
- 4,800 Searches/month
- Previous Ranking: #66
- Ranking After BMR #2
- Number Of Snippets: 26
- Proof:

Take the free trial and if you like the results you can go ahead and signup on the 5 domain monthly subscription. For that you’re allowed to build 10 links to each domain per day, so 50 links per day. Just imagine what that could do for your rankings, your business and your income. I was lazy and only built like 25 snippets to 1 site and look where it got me, #2 for a keyword that consistently pulls me in $150-300/month in Adsense revenue. Build My Rank works!

I am still curious about your process. Did you use BMR alone or in combining with other method?
I don’t think you read the entire post since I explained that I didn’t use anything else. Saying that I don’t blame you considering how long it is lol.
Only one or two of the sites had a few links before I started using Build My Rank on them. So it’s safe to say BMR got me 100% of my reported results. Go take the 10 link test drive and see for yourself.
Great post Jamie. I have been looking around for a good blog network the past few days. I think I’m going to give BMR a try.
offtopic: which plugins do you use for the share buttons on the side and the subscribe bar on top?
Thanks Belgian guy…
Build My Rank is the best blog network out there right now. My advice is for everyone to get the 5 site package and hire a full time $250/month Filipino to submit 10 snippets/day for all 5 sites. Once the sites are earning more than the $250+ BMR membership fee up the membership level + hire more people.
I use the Sharebar (search it in the Wordpress plugin directory and I use addthis.com for the bar at the top)

Thanks for the info!
Hey Jamie! Great in depth review man. Those case studies look great. The only thing that sucks is you spin the snippet and use it multiple times.
But hey your rankings improved drastically

Naa – spun content blog networks are over-rated.
A few contextual backlinks within 150 words of unique content will produve far better results than a spun article submission to say Unique Article Wizard. Blog networks like UAW and MAN are still excellent. As I still spin all of my articles, submit them to web2.0′s, article directories and more. So may as well take 5 minutes to submit them into a few blog networks for the hundreds of links they produce.
Saying that – BMR links are excellent and the zero spun content policy is necessary to keep a long term quality blog network. Seriously – take the 10 free links trial.
I definitely think that many people get “spooked” by BMR’s $2.50 per post price for outsourcing. However, many people forget that there are cheaper options available that will let them get BMR links cheaper and faster. Great post!
Totally agree Thomas. Most people are used to spun blog networks and just more more places to submit their spun articles. So many look at BMR and think crap… writing 150 word snippets per backlink is a lot of work.
It is – but it’s more than worth it. The time you put into the snippets will yield a lot more results than the time you put into writing/spinning and submitting articles to other networks.
Buying snippets from a service like yours is more than worth the money – but there are ALSO cheaper alternatives.

Yes, BuildMyRank is definitely here for the long-haul unlike many other blog networks which stop being effective after a year or two. The main reason for this is because they do require unique, well-written content. While people may find writing it or outsourcing it annoying, you are right that it is well worth the invested time and money. You’re also right that there are cheaper alternatives to my service, however most people who write for cheaper will have high rejection rates and crappy content. It takes a long time to build a team of writers who will work cheap but whose content is high quality
How long did it take for you to start seeing dramatic increases in the SERPs? I’ve been using BMR for about a month now and dripped 20 links to 3 brand new sites (only other link building was some SB). They just finishing dripping two days ago. Will it take a few days for my site to pick up or should you expect a rankings boost as soon as the articles are indexed?
I know you said you posted your original case study article 2 months ago, but will it take me that long to start seeing improvements?
No – generally whenever you build a load of links (no matter what kind) it takes 2 days to a week to see a boost in rankings. Sometimes it takes longer, sometimes less.
I would say wait a week before you make any judgements. Only like 6 links to each site? That’s not enough. I build 10/day to many of my sites. 10/week minimum for upkeep.
FYI, they are not accepting new customers as of this time.
Yep – I got the email. It’s a shame for those who want to get in now, but they will soon re-open the doors. They’re just expanding their network, they’d rather take in less money and keep the quality up to scratch. That’s how good they really are.
Thanks Jamie. You are the best.
You are a godsend with this website. I have been doing all white hat for my sites and it has not been enough. You have been the answer to my questions.
Your articles are so good, I am printing them out and putting them in a binder.
No problem Sarah! White hat isn’t enough, you’re right there. Many multi million dollar companies use solely white hat because they have the budgets to do so. But for small-medium websites and blogs, it’s simply not effective.
Use BMR and use the blog networks I mention here, they are all free:

Besides that I recommend a few things on here…

Traffic Kaboom is probably the best paid blog network right now if you have some money to spend.
I love this article on link building services, especially:
“We also know that the whole content is king statement is utter bullshit. ”
This is so true. Anyone who says you can make a website and rank only or even mainly with content, must be using Bing!
I have a great site about cordyceps. I rank on page one with Bing for “cordyceps”. I have 15 articles on what cordyceps is used for and I am on page 5 with Google for “cordyceps”.
Google doesn’t care what great content you have. I could have just as easily written articles about bugs or traveling, as far as they are concerned.
I do get some good traffic from my articles though. Certainly not enough to make much money. “Cordyceps and incontinence” for example. That’s not a common title.
I appreciate your help and am planning on joining these networks.
That linxboss video is funny. I’m a little concerned about the quality of those links. Also, he is trying to do a reverse sale thing where he says, “hey, don’t sign up if you are not serious”.
Yeah…
“Anyone who says you can make a website and rank only or even mainly with content, must be using Bing!”
Hilarious….
Linxboss don’t build very high quality links but they’ve been proven to work time and time again. As link building stands right now, high PR spun blog networks, networks like Build My Rank (the best) and high quality web2.0 building etc works best.
The better the quality of the spun articles you submit the better results they’ll yield, keep that in mind. That especially applies when building web2.0′s and with article marketing.
For spun blog networks PLR articles work just as well.
I don’t mind writing unique content, if it means I will win. I like writing articles and can quickly write a pretty good one about different health topics in 15 minutes. I don’t need to be very technical for these things.
My head is really spinning right now on what to do first.
Now that I know how to get the blog links that my competitors have been using, I want to write the content for my sites and get them all built out asap.
Also, the guy on the video for unique article wizard says they have a good article spinner that does not trash out the article.
Have you used this service?
Never used their spinner??
I used TBS and Spin Rewriter (a web based spinner) for all my spinning and then paste the spun articles into the blog networks.
TBS?
The Best Spinner…
I found out why BMR stopped accepting new customers. Google started to penalize their customers.
http://linkvanareviews.com/why-high-pr-networks-are-getting-murdered-by-google
What do you think of this Jamie? You have been doing this a lot longer than I have.
Yes, some of it is true. A lot of blog networks are being “murdered” by Google. BMR I really don’t think so. They say they stopped accepting new customers because they are growing their network. Improving it and making it more secure.
None of the sites I’ve been promoting with BMR have been penalized.
As Dan from linkvanareviews saying:
“BMR is fine, as are many other services and blog networks but the fact remains that it’s not the link sources that are being called into question here, but historical linking patterns, anchor text diversity, inner linking, deep linking or lack thereof…”
BMR only accepts unique content and many users submit posts that have far more words than 150. So all of their sites have unique content only, are well structured and different.
As Dan says, historical link patterns are being called into question. Internal linking and anchor text diversity are the two big ones. I always keep a 60/40 ratio minimum with my sites. 60% of my links go to internal pages and posts and 40% go to the homepage.
Always use 5-10 keywords in each link building campaign, as many as you can. Every URL you promote should have at least 10 keywords. In every link building campaign spin the keywords into your author resource box or however else possible to mix them up.
Use non contextual backlinks for massive diversity. Like Scrapebox for blog comments and Xrumer for forum profiles. You can build them in mass and use “click here”, “here”, “link”, “website” and so on.
Great point you discuss with us its very helpful for me. thank you so much for it sharing this post.

I was informed by my client just now that BMR has been de-indexed by Google and shut down. Do you have any idea about this?
