As everyone knows by now, link building is a massive part of search engine optimization. In fact, link building makes up the majority of Google’s algorithm. Although the realm of SEO has been shaken up with the whole social aspect, link building is still king.
Content is queen and the other social factors and princess. Saying that, I can definitely see the social side becoming a lot more imporant in the near future.
Google has already started using Facebook likes, tweets and Google plus one’s to influence rankings. So be aware… link building is still the dominating algorithm factor, but make sure to make your sites as social as possible. Also, don’t put out shitty content or you won’t be rewarded. Anyway, here is my top 14 list of effective link building software.
I’ve tried and tested every one of these tools and put them into great effect.
14. Submit Eaze
Submit Eaze was originally a directory submission tool, but has recently expanded. Taken straight from the website, “Submitting to directories is the fastest and single-most effective means of improving your search engine rankings“.
While I don’t completely agree with that statement, directory backlinks have been proven to raise search engine rankings time and time again. Submit Eaze used to just submit to web directories, but now submits to many of the top article directories.
I honestly think there’s no point in using the tool for article directory submissions, as there are far more efficient, effective and powerful tools on the market. BUT, it’s the perfect tool for directory submissions. Everyone knows bookmarks can drive heaps of traffic to your website. In fact, 0ver 50% of my referral traffic comes directly from bookmarking sites. Digg, StumbleUpon and ReddIt send me the most traffic by far, and Bookmarking Demon submits to them all. This tool has sheer power. Really, you have 4 reasons to buy this software.
- Bookmarks drive instantaneous traffic. (Your bookmarks can even go VIRAL)
- Bookmarks increase your PageRank.
- Bookmarks are a major part of “SocialRank”. (The social side of Google’s algorithm)

Forums have been utilized for search engine purposes for years now. To build backlinks with forums you simply join a forum, edit your profile and include a link to your site. All forums allow you to add a small strip of anchor text within your user profile. Really, the links you can build from forums are kind of spammy.
Saying that, they work very well and I’ve seen a ton of sites ranking for terms as crazy as “weight loss” from solely forum links. RSS submit is pretty much the most powerful RSS submission and management tool on the Internet. It allows you to automatically submit RSS feeds to thousands of the most popular RSS search engines. Submitting your RSS feeds to the RSS search engines drives traffic directly to your feeds and also helps index whatever’s in them. Honestly, the whole “RSS feeds are huge traffic goldmines” thing is getting kind of old.
RSS submit says yeah, “you’re missing out on hundreds of thousands of visitors if you’re not submitting your feeds to the search engines”. While that’s possibly true, the truth is that I use RSS submissions strictly for indexing. Indexing my backlinks.
As the links you can build with the other tools on this page won’t all get indexed by themselves. And…
Without your links getting indexed you won’t get full credit for them and you won’t move up in the search engines as much as you could. So getting your backlinks indexed is vital… And when you put your backlinks into an RSS feed and submit it to thousands of RSS engines, it sends the Google spiders all over them!

10. Rank Builder 
Rank builder is an all in one SEO tool launched byAlex Goad. Alex is a very successful marketer and is quite the guru in the Internet Marketing niche. While he’s not known for his SEO expertise, he did a great job with the launch of Rank Builder.
Rank builder is essentially a mini Senuke. Senuke is a tool which I’ll talk about later, it’s on the higher end of the list. Essentially Rank Builder automatically registers accounts on an array of websites.
It created websites, posts spun content on them and links back to your own using your desired keyword as anchor text. From there it will promote the websites through the use of RSS submissions and bookmarking. It does a lot of stuff and is a great tool to have in your arsenal. (Click here to check it out)
9. Web2 Mayhem
Web2Mayhem is another all in one SEO tool released by two guys Jason Potash & Jason Katzenback. Both of them have a lot of experience in the field of search engine optimization and Internet marketing. Here’s a quick look at some of Web2Mayhem’s features: 
There really are a ton of features and several that are unique to Web2Mayhem. I personally don’t use the tool, but I did in the past with great effect. The blog poster, PAD submitter and podcast submitter really make Web2Mayhem unique. PADS are essentially software files that can be distributed to download sites.
The PAD submitter submits to the biggest download sites on the Internet.The cool thing about PAD submissions is they can get picked up by other download sites and sort of go viral.
Resulting in a flow of backlinks for months after your intial submission. The other submitters are pretty standard, but the PODCast submitter and blog poster are a huge bonus. 8. SEO Link Robot
SEO Link Robot is once again another all in one SEO tool that took the industry by surprise. The owner Steven Hawkins is reasonably established in the SEO world and he knows his stuff. SEO Link Robot is essentially a mini Senuke which is further down on my list (as mentioned before). The tool is split into several “bots”.
There’s a campaign manager, proxy manager, article spinner, article poster, web2.0 poster, web2.0 linker, press release submitter, bookmarker, rss submitter, meta indexer and site pinger.
Something really cool about SEO link robot is its web2.0 mini net robot. The robot automatically creates accounts on high Page Rank web2.0 sites, verifies them by email, logs in, spins & posts content, then strategically links them together to ensure maximum link juice flows through to your money site. It then auto bookmarks and submits the RSS feed of each web2.0 site to RSS aggregators. Here are some features of the web2.0 linker:

Magic submitter is yet another all in one SEO tool created by a guy named Alexandr Krulik. I personally used Magic Submitter for around 6 months until I decided to unleash the fury with the tools I’ll mention later. Although I don’t use Magic Submitter, it offers a lot of customization which some people go for.
If you’re looking to build a long term SEO business or your own SEO tool, MS will do the trick. Unlike other tools I’ll mention here, Magic Submitter allows you to add your own sites. Your own web2.0′s, article directories, bookmarking sites and more. You just have to teach MS what to do and it can go from there. Here are some of its features:

- Instantly spins your content, titles, and articles, creating unique content for your blogs, articles and bookmarks.

Everyone knows that you can rank well in the search engines by leveraging article directories. Article directories are usually high Page Rank and they easily rank in the search engines. Marketers discovered that fact years ago and ever since they’ve been using article directories for traffic generation… But what about the backlinks?
Yeah, article marketing was orginally used for traffic generation, but all directories allow you to have an author resource box. In that box you’re allowed to include 2 links to your website. Now there are many article marketing submission tools.To name a few of them, there’s Automatic Article Submitter, Article Demon and several others I can’t think of.
Above all is Article Marketing Robot. I originally used Automatic Article Submitter which was good for a while until the developer stopped updating it. Since then I’ve tried and tested several article submitters and none live up to the standards of Article Marketing Robot. As an Internet Marketer, an article submission tool is absolutely essential. Ahh… Serp Assist, that kick ass tool I used to love so much. Yep, I was an avid SerpAssist user and still love the thing. Serp Assist isn’t quite an all in one SEO tool, but it gets the job done. If you’re a total SEO freak like myself, you’ll love this thing. I believe that SerpAssist was the first automated SEO tool to include a diagrammer.
Using the diagrammer, you’re able to draw your exact link building strategy. You literally drag and drop which sites you want where and how you want them to link together. Senuke X which I’ll talk about in a minute, has similar technology but you’re not able to select which site you want where. With Serp Assist you choose the exact Web2.0 you want, the content you want on it and where you want it to link to. Here’s a quick example:
I really do enjoy using SerpAssist, it’s great fun to map out a new link building diagram. Serpassist can build web2.0 sites, web2.0/forum profiles, bookmarks and comment links. I also believe it can submit RSS feeds, but don’t take my word on that one. Fundamentally the tool rocks, but a lot of care goes into creating these structures.
Using SerpAssist you can easily create massive link wheels and pyramids. Have them all link to eachother, and then have comments, profiles and bookmarks built to them. The feature I absolutely LOVE about Serp Assist is their 100% success rate guarantee. Not once does a link NOT get created. Also, the other completely unique aspect is that they do the work for you.
You draw the diagram, add the spun content and press submit. The task gets submitted to the Serp Assist server and the account creations and submissions are done on their side! 4. Brute Force EVO2
Brute Force EVO2 is an incredibly powerful all in one SEO tool. It was actually the first or second SEO tool I ever paid for. Back when I was just getting started with basic WordPress websites, review sites and my first blog… I had no idea about SEO or link building. When I came across EVO2 I was in shock. Before I found EVO2 I was literally spending my time manually building links, getting little to no results.
So I was absolutely dumbfounded when I saw what EVO2 could do. It’s very similar to rank builder and some of the others I mentioned, but far superior. EVO2 is just way more automated than anything else out there right now. With the latest update, you can setup a link building campaign in under 2 minutes using EVO2′s user friendly wizard. The tool is very much for beginners, but produces great results.
You simply enter a URL, a few keywords, click download articles and hit the start button. EVO2 will then create accounts on article directories, web2.0′s, forums and more. Once the accounts are created it will login to them, post spun articles and drop links to your website using your desired keywords as anchor text. EVO2 then links together the pages it creates in a very strategic way for maximum link juice. 3. Scrapebox
Scrapebox was probably the second or third SEO tool I ever paid for and it really blew me away. Scrapebox is known as a blog commenting tool, but it really has 101 uses. It can scrape a massive list of blogs or websites from keywords you input. Then a few clicks later blast blog comments to all of them dropping links to your websites. Blog commenting is a crucial part of search engine optimization, it can be used to build high quality backlinks and drive traffic.
If you’re in the Internet Marketing niche. You can input a few generic Internet Marketing keywords, press scrape and have Scrapebox scrape thousands of relevant keywords. Then hit another button and scrape tens of thousands of relevant blogs to comment on. Once you have a big list of blogs to comment on. You input names (where your keywords can go), emails, websites (where you want links built to) and the list of blogs you want to comment on.
Scrapebox will then post comments on all of the blogs you scraped. You can use Scrapebox to mass comment or use the slow poster to manually post comments on high Page Rank blog posts. 2. Xrumer
Xrumer is probably the most powerful link building tool out there. It can submit to forums, guestbooks, bulletin boards and catalogs on a mass scale. I’m talking millions and millions of backlinks. Xrumer is definitely the fastest link building tool and it was created by some crazy Russian guys. It can do a bunch of things, but most people use it to build forum profile backlinks in mass quantities.
Forum profiles aren’t the best in terms of quality, but when created in mass they’re highly effective. With recent Google algorithm changes, people have been questioning the effectiveness of forum profiles. Some are saying they don’t work as well as they used to, others are saying they work just fine, but can get you into a lot of trouble with Google. From my experience they work very well and boost rankings dramatically. Xrumer is also great for blasting your other backlinks, indexing them and boosting the link juice they send through to your website.
1. Senuke X
Senuke X is number 1 on my list for a reason. It’s the best all in one SEO tool by far with advanced features like scheduling, multi-threading and indexing. I’m an avid Senuke user and started using it years ago. If someone told me they only wanted to invest in 1 link building tool, I wouldn’t even have to think about it.
I’d tell them to go buy Senuke X. You really don’t even have to take my opinion, if you checkout the Senuke X forum there are thousands of success stories. Anyway, Senuke X can completely automate the process of building all kinds of crazy link structures. Account creation, verification, content creation and spinning, submission and linking your links together however you like. These are some of Senuke X’s features:

Each module in your diagram doesn’t mean 1 link, it means dozens or even hundreds. For example, if we just had a social network module link to the money site and a social bookmarks module link to the social network module, here’s what would happen: (let’s say we spread the campaign over 7 days).

Hi Jamie, interesting software you found here. I might look into trying it out. I like how it supports pligg sites seeing I own a pligg site. I agree with you back links are king with Google. This social media fade I don’t know how long it will last for. You know I’m trying to create a service similar to this but so far it’s only syndication to the sites I own and not other ones.

Yeah Brian, thanks for the comment. It’s my opinion that links will remain king for a very long time. But if Google figures out a better way of sorting content and delivering the best to its users without using incoming links as a factor because it can be easily tampered with, I’m sure it will. However, I highly doubt it. Social and on-site factors are now crucial, but so are backlinks.
Great list Jamie! I use Senuke X and absolutely love it! I also use sick submitter, scrapebox and backlinktopia (this is a new program, very simple and builds backlinks from document sites, had some great results with this program).
I am thinking about Xrumer, but don’t know if i’m going to outsource it or learn it myself! What do you think?

I would definitely recommend Xrumer as your next tool, but before that Build My Rank. I would get Senuke X first, then scrapebox, then a blog network like Build My Rank and then Xrumer. That’s all you need. Sick and backlink topia are definitely good buys too.

Is Xrumer easy to learn? Compared to senuke x for example?
Yeah, well I think so.
Most people use it for building forum profiles and maybe the occasional thread posting/replying. Building forum profiles with Xrumer is dead simple and you can learn how to do it in 10 minutes.
Xrumer is similar to Scrapebox but more complex… The basic blog commenting feature is stupidly simple to use and anyone can start mass blog commenting in a few minutes – with scrapebox. But you can probably do over 100 things with Scrapebox, most of which nobody uses.
With Xrumer there are hundreds of potential uses, but the main forum profile building and thread posting etc takes minutes to learn. So there’s not a steep learning curve for the basic stuff you will want to do. But yes, it will take a few weeks or more to learn all the advanced stuff like using other plugins etc.
